In the morning of August 22nd,ITU Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on ICT Statistics Kicked off in the Academic Exchange Center of XUPT, which was hosted by the Telecommunication Development Bureau of International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Information and Communication Development Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT),and organized by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology(CAICT), XUPT and Shaanxi Communications Administration.

The conference lasted for four days, with the theme of “International ICT DevelopmentStatistics” which covering ICT statistics, telecommunications / ICT indicators, family ICT indicators and big data. During this period, the experts from all over the world conducted this seminar around the International ICT Statistics, National ICT Data Collection and Challenges, Information and Communication Technology Development Index, Internet Prosperity Index Research Results of China,IDI Index Results of China, Telecommunications Business Indicators and Big Data, Family ICT Indicators and other issues for discussion . The success of this Workshop would be of great significance to the research and application of international ICT development indicators.  

Over 100 experts and scholars from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT), the National Bureau of Statistics, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Huawei, XUPT and other institutions, as well as 20 countries in Asia-Pacific region attended the meeting.
